About Us

It all began with a mission trip from Hilton Head Island, SC, in July, 2005. We led 22 team members to Belize, CA. The team worked on repairing schoolrooms of a primary school located in a small, mountain village in western Belize. The village is called Billy White and has about 350 residents.

Upon returning home from Belize, we quickly realized that we had to do more for the children of Billy White. We made a fact-finding trip back to investigate the educational opportunities available to the kids. We found that most of the children drop out of school around the age of 10-11 because their families cannot pay to send them onto secondary school and the government does not pay for it. They go to work in the local tortilla factories and chicken coops for only $5 (US) per week. This employment is illegal because of their age (they must be 15 years old to be employed).

This is how we began ROWKIDS. We are now working in four countries, Belize, Guatemala, Jamaica, and Panama, with more in sight in the future.

ROWKIDS (Reaching Our World’s KIDS) is a Christian ministry that is dedicated to working with children, families and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by removing the obstacles which prevent them from obtaining the necessary education that each child needs to grow into a healthy, educated, and self-reliant, Christian adult.

Wherever we work, our prayer is that our efforts will be used by God to heal and strengthen people’s relationships with Him and with one another.  We do this by demonstrating God’s unconditional love for all people through our service to those in need – which includes providing for daily needs, educational opportunities, and partnering with schools, churches and individuals to encourage health, education and spiritual transformation.

Staffing the best in every region

We are blessed with staff that is gifted in a broad range of technical specialties.  We are inspired by the ways in which they use their God- given abilities in conjunction with existing resources.  Staff members working in their home countries, familiar with the culture and language, bring to ROWKIDS a deeply personal understanding of how best to assist local children and families.

We are thankful to God that though these collaborative efforts, we are able to be a part of breaking the cycle of poverty and economic exploitation of children, for the children in need in the world.
