HONDURAS:
In Honduras
children in primary and secondary levels from the mountain villages like El
Diviso, El Cerron, and Savannah by the Tualabe area in central Honduras need
your support and the support of ROWKIDS.
Very few children that complete their primary school (6th grade) have the
opportunity to go to secondary schooling because when the kids finish at the
primary school, they then have to pay to go to the secondary school in Tualabe -
750 Limperes for 1 month of school (19L = $1USD). They also have to have
transportation - about $16US/year.
Transportation is either a bicycle (great going down to school, tough coming
home), a horse, or they stay with a family in town ($50USD per month).
Because of the cost or the education and the commute, very few of the children
ever go past 6th grade or complete their primary education because the parents
do not see any hope!
Together we can provide the HOPE and a way to break the chain!

Only
5% of people finish secondary education in Honduras, which is one of the most
poorest countries in the Western Hemisphere. Our hope is that just like in
Billy White, Belize, ROWKIDS will be able to encourage the children to want to
go to school and to keep them in schools by providing the necessary school
supplies to each child, and paying for children’s education, transportation and
housing needs, while they attend secondary education in the Tualabe area.
